Ransoms, Goosegrass, Nettles, Bittercress, Dandelion, Violets and some chickweed. At last we have the time and opportunity to get out and about and start supplying the kitchen with all these fresh wild ingredients.
We are all seeing the Ground Elder, Hogweed, Hawthorn etc showing through and will soon be big enough to start picking and I for one cant wait to see how it will be put to use.
Tommy and Aaron have already smoked around thirty trout that Leo and I have caught up at Farmoor. To be honest I’m not sure that we will be able to keep up with demand so if anyone out there is catching any more than he (or she) can use ? or perhaps us smoking them for a share.
I’m sure everyone knows that we have built a wood fired oven out in the garden We have fired this up a few times and have also made a pizza. Well it was actually a bit of dough, some tomato based sauce from another dish, home made salami and blue cheese. Not exactly Italian I know but we enjoyed it.
